We the People
Today started out a little rough, as I expected! Nikki woke up this morning and was feeling really depressed due to the fact that she could not see Ryker in his crib, which she had become so accustomed to doing. After we talked for a while the nursing staff started to come into the room and could tell Nikki was upset. After numerous people came into the room, to include the Doctor twice, they realized something needed to be done. Tomorrow, some of the executive at the hospital are going to meet and discuss Nikki's situation of not being able to see Ryker, and see if they can figure out how to accommodate her seeing Ryker in a safe manner. The main concern they have is the spread of the H1N1 virus in the hospital. They do not want Nikki to stop this procedure due to her not being able to see Ryker, but they have a protocol in place that does not allow anyone under the age of 18 in the facility. They are concerned for her mental well being as well as the physical well being of other patients on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (BMT). The prayer would be that the staff have a compassionate heart and find a way to accommodate Nikki's needs, as well as being cognisant of the other patients health care concerns. We hope that are concerns and negotiations are heard. Please continue to send cards and prayers upwards. Thanks and God Bless.
