Score 20-10

You are probably wondering why we have a score for the title. First let me start off by saying that the news we got today was good. Now I will describe the journey/score. Her Father, Nikki and I came up with an interesting way to discuss where she is today. When we came into the hospital back on July 31 we were in the preseason and we came out of it with a losing record because she was diagnosed with Cancer. The next day we took the field in the Hospital and the score quickly jumped up to 7-0 (Cancer) because we found out it was AML. Within a few days from that we found out it was M1 which was a field goal for us. (7-3) The next few days went by and we found out that Nikki had no abnormalities with her cytogenetics which brought the score up to 7-6. A few days later we got news that Nikki had a positive FLT3 (10-6). We then had a time out and waited for the results of the second bone marrow biopsy and found out that Nikki had no trace of leukemia in her bone marrow which does not happen very often. We scored a touchdown coming out of a timeout making the score (10-13). We thought we were in good shape but I was reminded that we have something else to consider with the score. We have the best special teams in the game and on a kick off we scored a touchdown (20-10) without the opponent knowing (Cancer). There is a great deal to be said for all of the support and prayers that everyone has been offering (keep them coming this is only the end of the first Quarter). We have had a long 20 days but it was great to get this refreshing news and what this means is that Nikki has 7-14 days left and then gets to go home and start her journey there. The Doctors and nurses are not surprised (since they know Nikki) that she has gone through this part of the process with flying colors. We now are just waiting for her WBC (SEG Nuetros) to climb to 1000 so lets get back to doing what the special teams do best. Thanks again everyone and God bless.
